What is a Verruca
A verruca is a type of wart that appears on the soles of the feet. They are small, rough growths that may appear as singular or in clusters and are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). They may often have tiny black dots in the centre. Walking on them can often feel like having a small stone in your shoe.

What treatments can help
Podiatry
Your podiatrist will use an acid-based application to treat the affected areas. This Acid is more potent than the over-the-counter alternatives and can only be used by a HCPC registered podiatrist. Your podiatrist will assess and recommend the most suitable course of treatment depending on factors such as the size, location, and duration of the verruca.
How you will feel after treatment
You will experience immediate relief from pressure and pain, with smoother skin and greater comfort in your shoes. Walking will feel easier and lighter (sometimes like you are walking on air), especially in areas that were previously causing pain.
