What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is a hands-on and exercise-led healthcare profession that can help you to recover from an injury, reduce chronic pain and restore mobility and function.
Physiotherapists combine clinical assessment with evidenceâbased treatments to address how muscles, joints, nerves and movement patterns affect your daily life and activities.
Your treatment may include personalised exercise programmes, manual therapy for joint mobilisation using softâtissue techniques, movement reâeducation, postural advice, and modalities such as taping or ultrasound when appropriate.

- Empower you with selfâmanagement strategies
Many people start to notice improvements in pain and function after a few sessions, though recovery timelines vary depending on the condition and individual goals.

How your appointment will look
You will be welcomed by your Physiotherapist who will take a thorough history of your symptoms, medical background and activity goals.
This will be followed by a movementâbased assessment: observing posture and joint performance. From this assessment, your Physiotherapist will provide a diagnosis, discuss realistic goals and begin a personalised treatment plan with you. Treatment may include handsâon therapy, corrective exercise instructions, movement coaching and practical advice on pacing, load management and equipment or footwear where relevant.
The appointment will conclude with clear guidance on followâup appointments and maintenance advice.
