What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a hands-on therapy that focuses on the interconnectedness of your body’s structure. Osteopathy is based on the principle that the body’s ability to function is directly related to how your bones, muscles, nerves and tissues work together. Osteopaths assess the whole body, not just the area that hurts, to determine what is the root cause of your symptoms.
Your treatment can include gentle joint mobilisation, soft-tissue techniques, muscle energy work, and tailored exercise advice to diagnose and treat issues.

How your appointment will look
You will be greeted by your Osteopath who will take you into the consultation room. After asking some questions about your symptoms, medical history and medication, they will conduct a movement & orthopaedic assessment. Youโll perform simple movements, most likely while you are standing, to identify what areas need to be focused on. This will then progress into a diagnosis of the issues presented and the Osteopath will provide the appropriate treatment and advice.
The Appointment will conclude with some possible exercises to takeaway and recommendations on future appointments.
