What is Post Natal Massage?
Postnatal Massage is a gentle, restorative therapy designed to support women in the weeks and months after childbirth. It helps the body recover from pregnancy and delivery by easing muscular tension, supporting circulation, and promoting relaxation. Special focus is given to the back, shoulders, hips, and abdomen. These are areas that are most affected by pregnancy, birth, and caring for a newborn. Treatments are always adapted to your needs, whether you’re recovering from natural delivery, induced birth or caesarean section.
The general recommendation is to have a Post Natal massage 6-8 weeks after birth.

How your appointment will look
Your massage therapist will greet you and take you into the consultation room. They will discuss your delivery, recovery, and any ongoing symptoms that you are currently experiencing. Your massage therapist will then leave the room to give you time to prepare for your massage. You will remove the appropriate items of clothing and lie down comfortably. Together you’ll agree on a safe and comfortable position, using cushions and bolsters for support if needed.
The massage will then focus on areas of tension such as the back, shoulders, and hips, as well as using relaxation techniques to help reduce stress. At the end of the session, your therapist may provide aftercare guidance and recommendations on follow up appointments to suit your recovery needs.
